The XEV 9S is India's first ground-up 7-seater electric SUV, built on Mahindra's INGLO platform and effectively the electric sibling of the XUV700. It went on sale on 27 November 2025, bookings opened on 14 January 2026, and deliveries began on 23 January 2026. Since then Mahindra has added a 6-seater captain-chair layout and a new Custom drive mode, and the price list has been revised upward.

Here's exactly what the XEV 9S costs today, and what it actually costs to own once you factor in the bits Mahindra doesn't include.

Mahindra XEV 9S Price — Variant-Wise List (August 2026)

All prices are ex-showroom New Delhi. Every variant is rear-wheel drive with a single motor, rides on 235/60 R18 tyres, and gets a panoramic sunroof as standard. The 7.2 kW home charger is sold as a dealership accessory rather than being bundled into every variant, so confirm that line item on your booking form.

XEV 9S On-Road Price Across Indian Cities

The spread between cities comes down to state road tax, registration and insurance bundling. Bangalore and Patna sit at the top; Maharashtra, Delhi NCR and Punjab buyers get off lightest. EMIs start around Rs 42,500 a month on a 60-month tenure for the base variant, so most buyers land somewhere between Rs 42,000 and Rs 65,000 monthly depending on the trim.

What the XEV 9S Price Doesn't Cover

Here's the thing about paying Rs 20-30 lakh for the XEV 9S: the cabin is the headline feature. Three 12.3-inch screens stretched across the dashboard, glossy piano-black trim on the storage console and AC vents, a leatherette steering wheel, and door panels your kids will touch a hundred times a week. It's genuinely the most screen-heavy dashboard in any Indian SUV under Rs 30 lakh.

It's also the most fragile. Those triple screens are magnets for fingerprints, ring scratches and swirl marks. Indian summers push cabin temperatures past 50 degrees C, monsoon humidity gets into every seam, and pothole thuds send rings and bangles straight into the display. Mahindra's warranty covers the electronics — it does not cover a scratched screen or a scuffed door panel. And a screen replacement on a triple-display dash is not a small bill.

Protection costs a fraction of one percent of what you paid for the car. That's the maths.
